For more than 50 years, polyurethane or PUR glue has been favored by manufacturers. They are suitable for metals such as aluminum and steel, plastics including PVC and polypropylene, and a variety of foam substrates. Any person who uses PURs in the production process knows the degree of improvement in bond quality and other adhesive options. However, this may be true, not all PUR glue is equal. As manufacturing becomes more and more complex, more and more widely used composite materials, companies are rapidly turning to the use of two parts of the polyurethane adhesive. This is the reason they are switching five reasons why you should also do so.
In the inward state, PUR glue is a reactive material that can usually be found in cartridges, drums or drums and must be kept in the package until it is used. Because of its make-up, it can not be extroverted, it is moist. Meaning When it melts in a closed system, it is not exposed to the air until it reaches the target substrate between the applications. At this point, once exposed to moisture in the atmosphere, the initial strong bond is formed in a few seconds and, as the PUR crosses, continues toward the permanent bond strengthening.
Most of the curing time was developed within 8 hours of use and was completely cross-linked for two days (depending on the moisture / drought conditions, the time range must be taken into account). It is also available in a wide range of temperature ranges, opening times and viscosity ranges. It is a good choice for bookbinding, general product and furniture / cabinet assembly work and woodworking for rugged and cold-resistant colds that require tough, low-power substrates.
The use of a single PUR glue formulation usually requires moisture as an activator during the crosslinking process. Basically, you need water to activate the adhesive. For most manufacturers, this is not a huge burden. In fact, adding water to the binder is cheap and does not find any harmful VOCs common to other adhesives. Where the problem occurred in the bond itself. If it is not properly controlled, a moisture bag will form during the bonding process, which will ultimately affect the quality and integrity of the final product.
