Polyurethane reaction is the most durable bookcase available. It is far superior to ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) or any other adhesive used in the traditional perfect combination. PUR can be adhered to a variety of substrates, including inks, varnishes, recycled paper, polyester films and UV coatings or waterborne coatings.
PUR glue (polyurethane reactive adhesive) is the recent development of hot melt world. They are polymerized in use and form a stronger bond with other hot melt. It is quite flexible and can be used over a wide range of temperatures over most hot melt. The chemicals that occur in the glue absorb moisture from the air. PUR glue is very powerful and flexible, and uses the perfect binding method to work beautifully as a book adhesive in difficult work.
In addition, the PUR glue has a low volatile organic compound (VOC) content compared to conventional hot melt materials. Since many volatile organic compounds are hazardous air pollutants, the lower number of volatile organic compounds makes the PUR glue an environmentally friendly option. After using the adhesive, the use of dry and ventilated equipment on site can also be eliminated by using PUR hot melt.
Some PUR glue has a fast curing time and can form a strong initial bond in just 15 seconds. Most PUR adhesives also take 24 hours before fully cured, during which their strength continues to increase from the moisture in the air. This means that it is important to expose it to the air once the PUR adhesive is applied.
Before starting any project, you should always test the adhesive you choose. Whether you are using PUR glue other types of adhesives, apply the adhesive to a small, unobtrusive area and wait for it to be fully cured before applying it to the entire project. You can do this on scrap, or apply the adhesive to the hidden part of the project.
